Celtic’s transfer plans have certainly started to pick up pace over the last week or so. The club have announced the signings of Liel Abada, Kyogo Furuhashi, Bosun Lawal and Carl Starfelt recently.
We have already seen Abada make an impact in the first-team, as he scored in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League second round qualifier against FC Midtjylland. And the fans would be hoping that the other new signings make impressive starts to their time at Parkhead as well.
Despite the recent arrivals, there are still a number of positions in the Celtic squad which need reinforcements. One of those positions is right-back. Anthony Ralston is the only recognised right-back in the squad at this moment but he is yet to show that he can be the long-term answer in the position.
Thus, the Hoops are expected to sign a right-back this summer and they should definitely consider making a move for Aleix Vidal.

Vidal could be a good signing for Celtic
Vidal has played for the likes of Sevilla and FC Barcelona in the recent past, but he is a free agent now.
The 31-year-old did not play a lot of football last season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he made just 19 appearances for Sevilla in the 2020/21 campaign. But he could be a good fit in Ange Postecoglou’s style of football.
Vidal has been heavily linked with a move to Benfica as well as clubs in Turkey recently, but the Hoops should try to sign him as well, especially considering the fact that he is a free agent. That could be a massive factor since the club needs to sign a number of players over the course of this summer transfer window.
His experience of playing for some of the biggest clubs in Europe could come in handy for Celtic, as well as the fact that he is also capable of playing as a right winger and a right midfielder. At 31 years of age, he might not be a long-term solution for the club, but he can definitely be a solid signing for the next few years.
