Celtic might need to strengthen on the wings over the course of the summer transfer window. At this point of time, the club do not possess great depth there.

James Forrest and Mikey Johnston both spent the majority of the previous campaign on the sidelines due to injuries, while Karamoko Dembele does not have a lot of experience in the senior level under his belt despite his unquestionable potential.

The club have already managed to sign Liel Abada. And while he is an exciting signing to say the least, it remains to be seen how he adjusts to the Scottish game. As a result, it would not be surprising if the club end up making a move for another winger this summer.

Richard Wilson, football writer and host of the History of Yugoslav Football Podcast, tweeted out that Celtic have spoken via intermediaries regarding a deal for Kristijan Lovric:

Lovric could be a good signing for Celtic

The Hoops have been linked with Lovric in the past as well but a move failed to materialise back then. And it is not hard to see why the club might be interested in the Croatian.

Currently playing for HNK Gorica, the left-winger has been sensational over the past several seasons. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 18  goals and provided 7 assists in 32 appearances last season. He also averaged a goal contribution about every 97 minutes, which is impressive for any player.

Lovric has also made an appearance for the Croatia national team in the past and could prove to be a brilliant signing for the Hoops, if they can bring him to Parkhead.

The 25-year-old is someone who certainly knows his way to the back of the net and is a good provider of assists as well. It does look like any potential move will depend on the Hoops’ performance in Europe this season though.
