It looks like Celtic’s transfer plans are quickly picking up pace. The club had already brought Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide to Parkhead this summer but then went through a few quiet days, when there were no new arrivals.

But now, moves are quickly being made. They have already announced the signing of Liel Abada on a five-year deal on their official website. And Carl Starfelt is expected to arrive soon as well.

Yet, they would not be expected to stop there. After finishing 25 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership and without a trophy last season, several more signings are expected with reinforcements required in a number of positions on the pitch.

It looks like it is Brandon Soppy who the Hoops have in their sights now and will be targeting next. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted out:

Soppy could be a great signing for Celtic

Right-back is a position of need for the Hoops at the moment. Jeremie Frimpong and Hatem Abd Elhamed departed last season, while Jonjoe Kenny has also left with his loan spell coming to an end. As a result, Anthony Ralston is the only recognised right-back in the squad at the moment. And he is yet to show that he can be the solution there.

As a result, someone like Soppy could prove to be a good signing for the Hoops. He just turned 19 years of age earlier this year and does not have a lot of experience at the senior level, but Soppy is very highly rated and has a lot of potential. He has also represented France at multiple youth levels.

His contract with Rennes is set to expire in the summer of 2022. As a result, he could be on his way out of the club this summer. Now, it remains to be seen whether the Hoops can bring him to Parkhead.
