This summer promises to be one of change for Celtic as it looks like the squad will undergo a massive overhaul. A number of players look set to be headed for the Parkhead exit door and replacements are expected to be brought in for them.

There are quite a few first-team stars who have one year or less remaining on their current deals. And when it comes to them, the Hoops might have very little choice but to let them leave.

One such player is Ryan Christie. His current deal is believed to be coming to an end at the end of this year. As a result, the Glasgow giants have very little time on their hands to find him a new club. Otherwise, he will become a free agent in the middle of the season.

There does not appear to be any lack of interest in the player though. Clubs from down South as well as from around Europe have been linked with a move for Christie. And as reported by the Daily Mail [08/07, Euros Verdict pullout, p11] (via 67 Hail Hail), Burnley are monitoring the situation and have made contact.

Christie looks set to leave Celtic soon

While Christie might not have enjoyed a great 2020/21 campaign, there is no doubt that on his day, he is a very effective player. As a result, multiple clubs around Europe appear to be interested in his signature.

Burnley manager, Sean Dyche, is believed to be a fan of the Scottish attacking midfielder, who has been a major part of the Celtic first-team over the past three seasons. But considering his contract situation, he looks set to leave in the near future.

Not too long ago, Christie was rated at over £10 million. But with his contract running out in months, the Hoops are not expected to get anywhere near that even if the Scottish international completes a summer transfer.
