Signing a striker or two might be near the top of Ange Postecoglou’s wish list in the summer transfer window as Celtic could soon find themselves short of options up top.

Odsonne Edouard has only one year left on his current deal and is being linked with a number of clubs. As a result, a summer exit might very well be on the cards for the Frenchman. On the other hand, Patryk Klimala has already left the club to join the New York Red Bulls while Vakoun Issouf Bayo’s future remains up in the air as well.

As a result, it would not be surprising if the club decided to make a move for a striker this summer. And Kevin Nisbet appears to be on their radar.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Celtic have set their sights on a move for Nisbet. Hibernian are prepared to speak to potential suitors but will insist on a transfer fee in excess of £4 million.

Nisbet could be a great signing for Celtic

Over the past few years, Nisbet has been very impressive. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 18 goals and provided 8 assists for Hibernian last season.

But perhaps what is even more impressive is the fact that he has scored 34 goals, 23 goals and 18 goals in the past three seasons respectively. And they were scored for three different teams in three different leagues, thus showing he can find the back of the net in any setup and at any level. One also has to consider that he would be expected to get more chances to score at Parkhead and his numbers from last season could go up even further.

As a result, the 24-year-old could prove to be a solid signing for the Hoops. And it remains to be seen if the club can get a deal over the line for him.
