With Ange Postecoglou now in Glasgow, Celtic’s transfer plans are expected to pick up pace moving forward. And in many ways, they already have. The club have been linked with a number of players over the past few days and they have even completed the signing of Osaze Urhoghide from Sheffield Wednesday.

The 20-year-old is a centre-back, who is very versatile and can play all across the backline. While there are several areas where he can still improve, the potential is there for all to see when it comes to Urhoghide.

The Hoops need to strengthen in several other positions though as the squad is expected to undergo a massive overhaul. And thus, a number of new faces might be at the club come next season.

Postecoglou has guaranteed whoever joins Celtic though that they will develop to their full potential at the club. As reported by the club’s official website, the manager said:

"“I want people to come to Celtic because they want to play for this football club, not because of individual ambitions to do something else.“What I’ll guarantee them is they’ll develop to their full potential here.”"

Celtic will need to sign players in quite a few areas over the summer transfer window

There are a number of positions in the squad that need strengthening. Goalkeeper, right-back, centre-back, left-back, central midfield, right wing, left wing and striker are all positions that the Hoops need to sign players in, who can either be starters or add competition for places.

Postecoglou’s comments should definitely excite players about moving to Parkhead though. While the manager does not have a lot of experience in Europe, he has been a winner at most places that he has been till now. And the confidence that he has in his own ability to develop players is there for all to see.

Now, it remains to be seen who the club are able to sign over the course of the next few months. They have certainly been linked with some exciting names but it will be about getting deals over the line now.
