Massive twist surrounding potential Celtic transfer exit
It looks like Celtic are set to undergo a massive squad overhaul in the summer transfer window. A number of players are expected to depart the club over the course of the next few months and should be replaced by the arrival of new faces at Parkhead.
One such player who is expected to leave the club is Olivier Ntcham. The Frenchman spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille but could not find his feet there.
Recent rumours had suggested that he could be headed for AEK Athens on a free transfer, as the Hoops might not take the one year extension option that they appear to have in his contract. But now, it looks like that is not the case and Ntcham’s potential move might very well be off the table.
As tweeted out by journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, AEK Athens will check other central midfield options as they believe that the Hoops will not let Ntcham leave as a free agent:

Could Ntcham remain at Celtic beyond this summer?
There was certainly a bit of confusion when rumours had first emerged that Ntcham might be on his way out of Parkhead on a free transfer.
Not too long ago, the midfielder was rated at around £20 million and was one of the best players at the club. It is safe to say that things have changed since then. At the moment, he appears to be very much out of the first-team picture at Parkhead and even though the AEK Athens move appears to be off the table, that does not mean that he could not end up moving elsewhere this summer.
But with Ange Postecoglou being the new manager of the club, there is a possibility that Ntcham could get a fresh start and an opportunity to show his qualities. The talent has never been in question when it comes to the midfielder and if he gets another chance at Parkhead, hopefully he will grab it with both hands.
