Celtic are coming off the back of a very disappointing campaign that saw them finish without a single piece of silverware after a long time. As a result, the Hoops must be keen to bounce back as quickly as possible.

Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as the club’s new manager. And although he does not have a lot of experience in European football, there is quite a bit of excitement around the club at the moment and most fans must be keen to see how he adjusts to life at Parkhead, after finding success both in Australia and Japan.

A lot of how next season turns out, will depend on the summer transfer window though. The club are facing a massive squad overhaul and will need to bring in players in a number of positions over the course of the next few months.

One player that they have been linked with in recent times is Andros Townsend, after the winger admitted that he was open to a move to Scotland. But as reported by The Athletic, Townsend may be offered new terms by Crystal Palace.

Townsend could be a good signing for Celtic this summer

While nothing is set in stone yet, one has to feel that if Townsend was offered new terms by Crystal Palace, there is a good chance that he would decide to remain in the Premier League.

While he has played in the English top flight for years now, Townsend is still just 29 years of age. Thus, he should have years of top football left in the tank.

Celtic, on the other hand, lack depth on the wings at the moment. Thus, a Premier League proven player like Townsend could be a good signing for the Hoops. It had looked like the 29-year-old was set to become a free agent this summer but now it appears that a stay at Crystal Palace could be on the cards for him.
