Celtic appear to be out of transfer race for goalkeeper
By StevieMac
With many transfer rumours floating around about players coming in and leaving Celtic, it looks like the club might very well be out of the transfer race for one of them.
With a rebuild of the squad on the horizon, there are a number of positions which might need strengthening. One of them is between the posts.
Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard all got decent runs in the first-team last season. But none of them were able to fully convince that they could be the long-term goalkeeper for the Hoops. Thus, it would not be surprising if the club ended up signing another goalkeeper over the course of the summer.
Thus, they naturally must have been looking at alternative options elsewhere in the recent past. And Dundee United’s Benjamin Siegrist is someone who the club were linked with not too long ago. But it looks like a move might not be on the cards after all.

Siegrist unlikely to join Celtic this summer
Siegrist has had some great performances at Dundee United and has even been brilliant in games against the Hoops in the past. He is also in the final year of his current deal, which means that it is likely that he could be on his way out of the club in the near future.
As reported by the Daily Record, a move to Celtic is unlikely to happen for Siegrist. Ipswich Town are showing interest currently, having made an initial offer, which was turned down by Dundee United.
On the other hand, the Hoops might still need to sign a new goalkeeper in this transfer window. Following the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, one man that they have been heavily linked with is Mat Ryan. The Brighton & Hove Albion man is in the final year of his contract at the club and could be available for a bargain transfer fee this summer.
