Celtic are coming off the back of a disappointing campaign which saw them fail to win a single piece of silverware after a long time. Thus, the club are expected to want to bounce back as soon as possible and challenge for titles once again next season.
For that to happen, a number of changes need to be made though. Ange Postecoglou has already been appointed as the club’s new manager. And the next task will be to rebuild the squad, with a number of players expected to depart this summer and a number of positions in need of strengthening.
One man who could be a great signing for the club is Andros Townsend. The Englishman is set to be a free agent this summer as his contract with Crystal Palace runs out at the end of this month. And it looks like he could be open to a move to Scotland as well.
While speaking with talkSPORT and as reported by HITC, when asked about a potential move to Parkhead or Ibrox, Townsend said:
"“I’m open to everything.“If there’s an option that presents itself and it’s the best one for me and fulfils my needs, I wouldn’t turn it down just because it’s in another country.”"

Townsend could be a great signing for Celtic
Townsend has been a regular in the Premier League for years now. Through the course of his career, he has represented the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers in the top flight of English football.
He was signed by Crystal Palace for a transfer fee believed to be around £13 million back in 2016. And since then, he has been a regular in their first-team. But with his contract running out this summer, it looks like the winger will be on the move as a free agent.
Townsend could be a brilliant fit for Celtic. Firstly, he is a right winger, a position that the club need to strengthen in over the course of the summer. Secondly, his wealth of experience in the Premier League could help him adjust to the Scottish game. And ultimately, the fact that he is still 29 years of age means that he still most probably has years of top football left in the tank. Thus, he would be a terrific signing for the Hoops, especially as a free agent.
