A number of players could be headed for the Celtic exit door over the course of the next few months as the club face a massive summer overhaul. The contracts of first-team regulars like Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie will be running out in a year or less and as a result, a summer transfer might be on the cards for them.
One man who has not been in the first-team picture for quite some time though is Olivier Ntcham. The Frenchman was one of the highest rated players at the club not too long ago. But now, it looks like he could even be set to depart on a free transfer.
Ntcham spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille who had an option to buy included in the deal. But after a disappointing stint with the Ligue 1 giants, it looks like the midfielder could be headed to Greece next season.
As tweeted out by Giannis Chorianopoulos, Ntcham has agreed personal terms with AEK Athens and the Greek club’s officials are optimistic that he will be a free agent soon:

Ntcham looks to be headed for Celtic exit
Initially, it was believed that Ntcham had a contract till the summer of 2022 with Celtic. But recent rumours have suggested that the last year on that deal is an option of extension and the Hoops might decide against taking it, thereby making Ntcham a free agent this summer.
If the club do decide to do that, it would be a bit confusing to say the least. A few years ago, Ntcham was rated at around £20 million. And although things have changed since then, there is still a possibility that they could get a transfer fee out of his departure.
Whatever might be the case, it is clear that midfield is an area that the Hoops need to strengthen in this summer, with both Ntcham and Christie looking set for exits, while Scott Brown will turn out for Aberdeen next season.
