A new goalkeeper might be near the top of Ange Postecoglou’s summer wishlist as he aims to rebuild this Celtic squad to the point where they can challenge for titles once again as soon as possible after a disappointing trophyless campaign.

Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard all got their chance to shine in the first-team last season. But none of them were able to convince that they could be the long-term solution between the posts at Parkhead.

As a result, it would not be surprising to see the club go after a new goalkeeper in the summer. And one man that they are being linked with now is Viljami Sinisalo. The 19-year-old currently plays from Aston Villa and spent last season on loan at Ayr United, where he was very impressive. He has also appeared for Finland at multiple youth international levels.

Celtic, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig all appear to be interested in the goalkeeper, as he could be in line for a huge move as he enters the final year of his contract at Aston Villa as reported by the Sunday People (via Daily Record).

Sinisalo could be a solid signing for Celtic

Judging from the quality of clubs being linked with him, it goes without saying that Sinisalo managed to impress during his loan spell with Ayr United.

If the club are able to get a deal for him over the line, it would be seen as a massive coup. But it certainly won’t be easy considering the competition for his signature.

Also, Sinisalo might be one for the future and not someone who can immediately come in and his mark in the first-team picture. Thus, the Hoops might have to sign another goalkeeper this summer even if they were to get the Aston Villa youngster. But even then, his incredible potential means that the club should make the move if they have the opportunity to do so.
