There is no question about the fact that Celtic need a major overhaul of their squad over the course of the next few months if they are to challenge the Rangers for the Premiership title come next season.

A number of first-team stars like Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie are being linked with Parkhead exits. Scott Brown has played his last match for the club as well and will be taking up a player-coach role at Aberdeen. The loan spells of the likes of Mohamed Elyounoussi, Diego Laxalt and Jonjoe Kenny have come to an end as well.

Thus, it is clear that the Hoops need to sign players who are capable of coming in and immediately establishing themselves as first-team stars. And one player that they must consider making a move for is Liverpool’s Harry Wilson.

Wilson has been one of the most highly-rated youngsters at Liverpool for quite some time now but he has not gotten too many opportunities to feature for the senior side, which is understandable considering the players that Jurgen Klopp’s side have up front.

Celtic should consider making move for Wilson this summer

After the disappointing season that they are coming off the back of, the Hoops will need to make a marquee signing this summer, especially with Edouard expected to leave as well. Wilson could prove to be that man.

The Wales international has just a couple of years left on his current deal with the Premier League giants. And at this point of time, it does not look like he will be a regular feature in the Liverpool first-team in the near future. Thus, a transfer away this summer might make sense for both the club and the player.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Wilson scored 7 goals and provided 12 assists in 37 appearances for Cardiff City in the Championship last season. Sensational stats for a right winger. Before this, he has also had promising loan spells with Derby County, Bournemouth and Hull City.

It is very possible that Celtic might need to break their transfer record to sign Wilson but it could very well be worth it.
