Bundesliga giants enter transfer race for Celtic star
With a number of first-team stars expected to depart Parkhead over the course of the summer, more clubs being interested in the players is good news for Celtic, who are looking at a massive overhaul of the squad and the transfer fees that they will receive for these outgoing players will go a long way in this rebuild.
One of the players who looks set to make his exit is Kristoffer Ajer. The Norwegian international was a consistent performer for the Hoops last season even when those around him were struggling for form.
With just a year left on his current contract though, a departure in the summer looks very likely for Ajer. And some big clubs could be interested in signing the 23-year-old.
As reported by Kicker (via Caught Offside), Bayer Leverkusen have Ajer in their sights.

Ajer looks set to leave Celtic this summer
Bayer Leverkusen being interested in Ajer could be good news for the Hoops. The more the number of clubs wanting to sign the Norwegian, the higher the chances of them getting a good transfer fee for him. Newcastle United and Norwich City have been linked with the defender as well.
It was not too long ago that Ajer was rated at around £25 million. But at this point of time, it is very unlikely that the club will get anything near that for his transfer.
It is hard to guess what kind of a transfer fee Ajer could command this summer though. While the club might very well be looking for something around €15 million, some rumours have even suggested that he could end up leaving for a transfer fee of around £6 million, which would be a massive bargain for a player of his quality and pedigree.
At 23 years of Ajer, he has already won a number of domestic titles and has great experience at both European and international level too.
