A new winger might be near the top of Celtic’s wishlist in the upcoming summer transfer window. With Mohamed Elyounoussi returning to Southampton from his loan spell at Parkhead, the club now have only James Forrest, Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele as recognised wingers.
And even then two of them – Forrest and Johnston – spent a large part of the previous season on the sidelines due to injuries while Dembele does not have too much experience of senior football. Thus, signing a winger or two might not be a bad idea for the Hoops.
One man that they have been linked with in the past is Bright Osayi-Samuel. The Hoops are believed to have wanted to sign him back when he was with Queens Park Rangers. But a move did not materialise and instead he moved to Fenerbahce.
He has not managed to find his feet at the Turkish club yet though and could be on his way out already. As reported by Fotospor (via 67 Hail Hail), Celtic are interested in the player although AS Monaco and the Rangers are also being linked with a move for the 23-year-old. In fact, negotiations are believed to be already underway with AS Monaco for a swap deal involving Henry Onyekuru.

Osayi-Samuel could be a good signing for Celtic
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Osayi-Samuel has scored and assisted once each in 19 appearances across all competitions for Fenerbahce.
It is safe to say that the Turkish giants must have been expecting the winger to be more effective and as a result, they might be ready to part ways with him already.
While Osayi-Samuel might not have had a great time with Fenerbahce, it is safe to say that he has already shown what he is capable of during his time with Queens Park Rangers. It was just last season that he had scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for the Championship side, as per stats from Transfermarkt.
Thus, signing someone like him could be a shrewd move on the part of Celtic but it is looking like it will be a tough task considering the interest in the winger’s signature.
