As the search continues for the next Celtic manager, the club could be forced to make some transfer decisions even without a manager in place.

As reported by The Scotsman, Hibernian are looking to bring Leigh Griffiths back to the club, but on a permanent basis for the first time, with his previous two seasons being on loan. They are also aware that the Glasgow giants are keeping a close eye on their own Kevin Nisbet.

Griffiths, who scored 38 times in 78 appearances for Hibernian in 2011/12 and 2012/13 according to stats from Transfermarkt, is expected to be looking to get back on track after missing out on this summer’s Euros as he did not feature regularly for the Hoops through the course of the season.

A move away from Parkhead isn’t too far-fetched with the veteran striker struggling to find consistency in recent years. The 30-year-old has scored 123 goals for the club and has been a part of many of their trophy victories over the past decade of dominance, but it could possibly be the time for his exit.

Could Nisbet be headed to Celtic this summer?

Nisbet could be eager for a big move to Paradise after a successful first year with Hibernian where he tallied 18 goals and 8 assists in 44 appearances. He has also proved himself elsewhere, scoring 34 goals in 46 appearances with Raith Rovers and 23 goals in 32 appearances for Dunfermline Athletic, according to stats from Transfermarkt.

His history of putting the ball in the back of the net for a variety of teams appears to have piqued the interest of the Hoops, especially if both Griffiths and Edouard depart in the summer. A good showing with Scotland at the Euros could convince them about the striker’s ability even further.

Waiting until after the Euros to get a deal done could be a risk for Celtic though. His transfer value will only go up with a good showing on the European stage, while more clubs could be interested at the point of time as well.
