A number of first-team stars are expected to leave Celtic over the course of the summer as the club face a major rebuild of the squad. And Odsonne Edouard is one such player.
The Frenchman has been the Hoops’ talisman for a few years now and when on form, he is probably the best player in all of Scotland. Edouard has crossed the 20-goal mark for three straight seasons now despite not being at the top of his game in 2020/2021.
With just a year left on his current deal this summer, it is believed that Edouard is heading for the Parkhead exit in the near future. Otherwise, he will become a free agent a season later and that is not something that the Hoops would want, especially since the transfer fee received for him can go a long way in the squad rebuild.
But is there a possibility that the Frenchman could end up staying? As reported by Glasgow Live, his latest Instagram story was accompanied by the caption:
"“Looking forward to having fans back at Celtic Park soon @celticfc”"

Could Edouard stay at Celtic beyond the summer?
To be honest, it is hard to see Edouard remain at Parkhead beyond this summer unless he signs a contract extension with the Hoops. And at this point of time, there appear to be no rumours pointing in that direction.
Of course, it goes without saying that on top form, Edouard is a brilliant player and the Hoops would surely want to have someone of his quality in the squad if they are to win back the Premiership title from the Rangers in the near future.
His chances of staying at Parkhead appear slim at the moment though. And the story could very well be pointing towards him making more appearances at Celtic Park, which is very possible as a transfer might not take place immediately and there is a chance that he could turn up for the Hoops again next season even if he does end up leaving eventually.
