Andy Robertson makes exciting admission about Celtic
Andy Robertson is one of the ones that got away from Celtic. He was with the club’s youth sides but never made it to the senior level for them.
He has been on a truly incredible journey to the top, which has taken him from Queen’s Park to Dundee United, to Hull City and then he finally ended up at Liverpool, where he has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the world.
Thus, it is hard not to wonder what could have been if he had managed to break into first-team football with the Hoops. It is pretty clear that Robertson himself would have liked to represent the club.
While speaking on PLZ Soccer and as reported by The Scottish Sun, he admitted that if he does not end up retiring at Liverpool, he would love to pull on the Celtic shirt one day:
"“My aim is to finish my career at Liverpool but I know how tough it is to stay at the highest level.“I would love to play for Celtic.“When I was a young boy growing up I used to say I’d give my best years to Celtic so I don’t want to go there when I’m old and maybe can’t move as much.“The time will come to make that decision but I have a good length of time left on my Liverpool contract.“I hope to stay and retire at the club and if I keep going and I feel fit and healthy I’d love to do that.“But if not I’d look at options and I’d love to pull on the Celtic shirt, of course I would.”"

Could Robertson join Celtic one day?
At this point of time, Robertson is 27 years of age and his current contract with Liverpool runs till the summer of 2024 with the option for a further year as per Transfermarkt. If that option was taken, then by the time his contract runs out, he will be 31 years of age.
Now, in modern football, it is very rare that players retire at the club that they spend their primes in, especially when they are top clubs like Liverpool where there is always the pressure to compete in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
Thus, it should not come as a surprise if Robertson was to depart the Merseyside club one day. And if the opportunity was there to bring him to Parkhead at that point of time, it is something that the Hoops should definitely consider.
Of course, it would all depend on what point of time that is, if it happens at all, and what level Robertson is performing at then.
