Celtic have been linked with Eddie Howe for quite some time now and the general feeling is that he will be the man in the Parkhead dugout come next season.

Howe has a big reputation from his time at Bournemouth. He took the club from the relegation zone of League Two to the Premier League and then kept them in the top flight of English football for five straight seasons. That is quite an achievement for any manager.

But he has never managed at a club where he is expected to win almost every game. That will be the case at Parkhead. So the question is – will Howe be able to adjust to that kind of pressure if he ultimately does become the Hoops’ manager? That will certainly be interesting to see. But it does look like Sir Alex Ferguson has been impressed with what he has seen from Howe till now.

The Manchester United legend named Howe as one of the managers who has impressed him recently. As reported by SPORTbible, Ferguson said:

"“On young managers, Eddie Howe had a great period at Bournemouth, for a young manager.“I think he did very well. Even though he’s relegated it doesn’t mean to say he’s not a good manager, I think he is a good manager.”"

Howe continues to be linked with Celtic although an appointment is yet to be made

Howe has been the favourite for the Parkhead job for quite some time now. But the appointment is yet to be made as the saga continues to drag, perhaps longer than most of the club’s fans would have liked.

It is only natural to get nervous about the situation the longer it continues to drag on, as Crystal Palace have been linked with Howe in the recent past as well.

It goes without saying that the arrival of Howe would be very exciting for Celtic fans and it is something that they have been waiting for, for a long time. We can only hope that the club are ultimately able to get a deal over the line.
