This summer promises to be one of change for Celtic. A new manager is set to come in, a number of players are set to leave and will be replaced by new faces, Dominic McKay is set to replace Peter Lawwell and there are going to be many other off-the-pitch changes at the club as well.

In many ways, this is the beginning of a new era for the club. And it will be a very different looking Celtic come next season, both on and off the pitch.

Thus, it is a very exciting time to be a fan of the club as we wait to see what decisions the club make with the aim of returning to the top of Scottish football as soon as possible.

Stiliyan Petrov appears to be excited about the situation as well and has called for the appointment to be made soon. He told the Go Radio as reported by the Daily Record:

"“I hope we’re going to see an appointment very soon.“I mean, the new season is just around the corner again. We’d like to see a bit of clarity, somebody who is willing to change things in a different way.“And then we can move on.“I’m actually excited. I’m excited to see what Celtic Football Club will offer going forward to challenge Rangers next year.“Who’s going to be the new manager? New signings? This excites me.”"

Celtic need to make an appointment as soon as possible

While the season might have come to an end not too long ago, the club must start their preparation for the next one soon with the UEFA Champions League qualifiers not too long away.

As a result, the first step the club must take is to appoint the new manager. At this point of time, Eddie Howe appears to be the clear favourite for the Parkhead job but no appointment has been made yet. And as we all know, things can change very quickly in football. Thus, the longer this saga drags on, the more nervous some fans will be regarding the situation.

Just bringing in a new manager won’t be enough though. Whoever it ends up being, won’t be a magician. And a lot will depend on the club’s recruitment over the summer with regards to how the upcoming season turns out for the Hoops.
