After months of rumours and speculation, it looks like the Celtic managerial chase is set to come to an end in the near future. While the Eddie Howe saga might have dragged on for longer than most fans would have liked, it looks very likely that he will be the man in the Parkhead dugout come next season.

Howe is very highly rated for the work that he did at Bournemouth, taking them from the relegation zone of League Two to the Premier League, and if the Hoops are able to get a deal for him over the line, it should be seen as a major coup on the part of the club.

But while Howe is a great manager, he is no magician. After the season that the Hoops had and with a number of players expected to depart, a lot will depend on the recruitment over the course of the summer with regards to how the upcoming season turns out.

One player that they have been linked with in recent times is Josh King. But as reported by Football Insider, Norwich City are now chasing the striker on a free transfer.

Celtic have been handed a King transfer blow

King is currently at Everton but he has not managed to find his feet there. He has neither scored nor assisted for The Toffees yet. As a result, he is expected to be leaving when his contract runs out at the end of the current campaign.

King is someone who had a very successful time while playing under Howe at Bournemouth though. And it is clear that the manager knows how to get the best out of the Norwegian international.

Thus, a reunion at Parkhead could be of interest to King. But on the other hand, a move to Norwich City would provide him with the chance to remain in the Premier League. Thus, he could be left with a very difficult decision on his hands.
