Eddie Howe has been the favourite for the Celtic job for over a month now. But till now, the appointment has not taken place as the saga continues to drag on.

Naturally, the longer this remains the case, the more doubts will be raised surrounding the move eventually taking place. But for the time being, Howe remains the most likely candidate for the Parkhead job.

As reported by the Daily Record, the Hoops must wait till Bournemouth’s season is over due to financial obligations. Howe could be looking to bring in people from his former club to serve as his backroom staff at Parkhead as well.

It is believed that Howe is set to bring in their technical director Richard Hughes, as well as coaches Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone.

Howe could be a massive boost for Celtic

After the season that they have endured, it is clear that the Hoops will be looking to bounce back as soon as possible. For that to happen, they need to make changes at the club. And perhaps the biggest change would involve bringing in a new manager to the club.

In this regard, Howe would be seen as a massive coup. He did a brilliant job at Bournemouth, taking them from the relegation zone of League Two to the Premier League and kept them their for five straight seasons. Many have touted him to be a future manager of the England national team as well.

While the saga might have dragged on for longer than most fans would have liked, there is a way to view this as a positive. His chase for the Bournemouth trio to be his backroom staff at Celtic as well, just shows that he is a perfectionist who wants things to be perfect around him in order to provide him with the best chance to succeed. And at this point of time, the Hoops might very well need a manager like that.
