Considering that he is the son of Henrik Larsson, it should not come as a surprise that Jordan Larsson has been linked with a Celtic move in the past.
Of course, nothing materialised out of those rumours and Larsson is currently playing for Spartak Moscow. And it is safe to say that he is thriving there.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 15 goals and provided 5 assists in 30 appearances for the club this season. And now, he has been named in Sweden’s squad for Euro 2020 with Zlatan Ibrahimovic out of the competition with an injury.
Now, many Hoops fans will be questioning, could a move to Parkhead be on the cards for Larsson? It does not look like he would be against the suggestion judging from his comments regarding the matter in the past. As reported by RT, several months back he had said:
"“For me Celtic will always have a special place in my heart, not that I’ve played there in that sense, but it was the first place where I saw football as a young kid going with my mother to see games when my father was playing.“That’s where I have the biggest memories in my head: ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ you have all the scarves before the games and everything so of course it will always have a special place in my heart but at the same time since my father is who he is at the club I think for me personally if I would ever have the chance to play there then I would like to establish myself even more, make my own name before I would play there if that chance would ever come up but of course it’s tempting.“Not that they are interested in that sense but If I think about it to be able to play there would be a dream in that sense.”"

Could Larsson join Celtic in the near future?
Of course, anything can happen in football. But at this point of time, it looks unlikely that Larsson will be heading to Parkhead anytime in the near future.
It feels more likely that his next move could be to a club in the top five European leagues. He has already shown enough promise to make such a move a possibility.
His performances this season could mean that any interested club would need to shell out a transfer fee over £10 million to secure his signature. And it is unlikely that Celtic could do that, especially in the current financial climate.
Someone like Larsson could be the perfect signing for the club at this point of time though with Edouard expected to depart this summer and the Hoops in need of a striker as a result of that. But would they be open to the idea of smashing their transfer record for him? That is the big question because that is what they might need to do if they want to sign him after his terrific season.
