Eddie Howe has been the favourite for the Celtic job for over a month now but an appointment is yet to be made even though the season is now over. But recent rumours have suggested that the move is getting close.
It is believed that Howe is set to take over at Parkhead and the delay has been because he has been putting together his backroom staff. He is expected to be targeting a couple of coaches from Bournemouth, who are in the Championship play-offs right now and won the first leg against Brentford 1-0.
Of course, it will be very interesting with regards to what happens if Bournemouth are able to make it back to the Premier League by winning the play-offs. In that case, it looks unlikely that their coaches would come to Parkhead to be a part of Howe’s backroom staff.
There appears to be a confidence though that Howe is going to be the next Celtic manager. While speaking on the Go Radio Football Show and as reported by This is Futbol, journalist Mark Guidi said:
"“But the word seems to be it’s Eddie Howe and it’s going to be official at some point in the next two or three days.”"

Eddie Howe looks set to be the next Celtic manager
Fans have waited for months for a new manager so a few extra days won’t be much for them. But one has to feel that the longer this saga continues to drag on, the more doubts will be raised regarding the ultimate arrival of Howe.
Also, one has to question what will happen in case Bournemouth are promoted to the Premier League. If that happens, Howe is expected to have a very difficult time in bringing his preferred coaches to the club and what kind of an effect could that have when it comes to the move.
Ultimately, most fans of the club would want Howe to be the next manager and the quicker that a deal is over the line, the better.
