The Eddie Howe to Celtic saga has dragged on for quite some time now. The earliest rumours linking him with a Parkhead move arose as early as last year when the Hoops were struggling for form under Neil Lennon.
No change was made then though and Lennon remained in charge of the club. Ultimately, the Northern Irish manager stepped down from his role in February of this year, leaving John Kennedy in interim charge of the Hoops.
The season is now over and the club are yet to appoint a new permanent manager, although Eddie Howe has been the favourite to get the Parkhead job for over a month now. There was some belief that the announcement could be made this Monday morning but it does not look like that will be case.
A report from the Daily Record said:
"But with Rangers having lifted the Scottish Premiership trophy on Saturday many expected Celtic to announce Howe on Monday as an immediate response.Sources close to the former Bournemouth boss, though, are adamant that Howe won’t be announced at the start of the week."

It looks like the Howe to Celtic saga is set to continue
With the season now over, Celtic will have to make the appointment of their next manager as quickly as possible with the Champions League qualifiers coming up.
The Hoops have not qualified for the competition in the past three seasons and should be eager to return to Europe’s elite competition this time around. But that is not just the only reason why the appointment has to be made swiftly.
The club are also looking at a major overhaul over the course of the summer as a number of first-team players appear set to leave and a number of new faces expected to be brought in to replace them. Thus, a new manager must be in place in order to help with the overhaul and rebuild the squad in his own vision so that he has the best chance to succeed come next season.
