Perhaps the only positive coming out of Celtic’s match against Hibernian today is that the season is now over. And most supporters would probably like to forget about it as soon as possible.

The match itself was an uneventful affair and had all the usual characteristics of this season. Celtic pressed forward, well forward and sideways a lot of the time as well. Plenty of possession but few real chances and the failure to find the back of the net.

No goal, limited chances and a 0-0 draw in the end was the story of the day. As it has been so many times this season.

Some good news is that there was a clean sheet for Vasilis Barkas for the second match in a row, which will hopefully give him some confidence. Of course, the fact that Hibernian did not have a single shot on target surely had a big part to play in that.

Celtic need to make changes and as quickly as possible

Perhaps, a goalless draw was the perfect end to this season. The need for change is evident. And the next few months are expected to be filled with changes, both on and off the pitch.

A lot of the players from today won’t feature for the Hoops again, with a number of them expected to leave. And they will need to be replaced with new faces over the course of the summer.

Sadly, Scott Brown played his last game for the Hoops today as well, as he will be joining Aberdeen in a player-coach role next season. All we can do is wish him the best and thank him for everything that he has done for this club over the years.

The key to the way forward and putting this last season behind us lies in positive changes being made. The need for new direction, players and a manager is clear. In fact, it needs to be made as soon as possible.
