Celtic are expected to make a number of signings in the upcoming summer transfer window as they look set for a massive overhaul with the aim of returning to the top of Scottish football as soon as possible after losing the Premiership title race to the Rangers with six games to spare this time around and failing to win a single trophy throughout the course of the campaign.

At this point of time, it looks like Eddie Howe will be the man in the Parkhead dugout come next season. And while he is clearly a great manager, we need to remember that he is not a magician.

As a result, a lot will depend on the kind of recruitment that the Hoops make over the course of the next few months. And it looks like Kevin Nisbet and Aaron Hickey are two players who they are considering making moves for in the summer.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, both players have been presented to Howe as potential signing targets. And now, it remains to be seen whether the club will make moves in the summer.

Nisbet and Hickey appear to be on Celtic’s transfer wishlist

It goes without saying that both Nisbet and Hickey are very highly-rated. And it is not hard to see why they are being linked with Parkhead moves.

Nisbet has enjoyed a brilliant campaign. The Hibernian striker has scored 18 goals and provided 8 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions this season according to stats from Transfermarkt.

On the other hand, even at 18 years of age, Hickey has made 12 appearances for Bologna this season according to stats from Transfermarkt.

Nisbet is believed to be rated at around £3 million while Hickey appears to be rated at around £4 million. Thus, the Hoops might need to shell out £7 million if they want to sign the duo this summer.

Now, while there is no doubt that both of them have a lot of potential, one has to wonder whether they can come in and make an immediate impact in this Celtic side because those are the kind of players that the Hoops need at this point of time.
