Celtic are expected to make a few waves in the upcoming summer transfer window as the club aim to rebuild and return to challenging for titles as soon as possible after a disappointing campaign that will see them finish without a single piece of silverware.
For the Hoops, that is a rare event and one that they will not be keen to repeat anytime soon. Thus, it is clear that changes need to made at Parkhead.
Bringing in a new manager will be the biggest change of them all although it looks like there will be many other changes behind the scenes as well. With a number of players expected to leave over the course of the summer, a number of new faces are expected to arrive at Parkhead as well.
As reported by TEAMtalk, Celtic remain very keen on signing James McCarthy, who they came close to agreeing terms with in January but the deal was not finalised. Newcastle United are also looking closely at the player.

Could Celtic be set to make move for McCarthy?
Celtic have been linked with a move for McCarthy for quite some time now. And it is not hard to see why, considering he is just the kind of midfielder the Hoops appear to be looking for.
He also has a lot of top level experience, having played for the likes of Everton, Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic over the years and has even won the FA Cup in the past.
But if he was to leave Crystal Palace in the summer, there will be some tough competition for his signature. Newcastle United are interested in the midfielder while Burnley have also been linked with him.
It also looks like McCarthy could be open to staying at Crystal Palace as well although his contract runs out at the end of this season and the club have not made a decision on his future yet.
Thus, the Hoops might have to be quick if they want to get a deal done but it is unlikely that they will do so before appointing a new manager.
