After months of rumours and speculation, it looks like Celtic might finally be closing in on appointing the club’s next manager. And that man appears to be Eddie Howe.
Howe has been linked with the Parkhead job for quite some time now and was believed to be the favourite. Recent rumours linking him with Premier League clubs had raised doubts about the move though. But now it looks like he could very well be the man in the Hoops’ dugout next season.
He is very highly rated for the work that he did at Bournemouth over his two stints there, taking them from the relegation zone of League Two to the Premier League in a relatively short span of time. Then he managed to keep them up in the top flight of English football for five straight years, an incredible achievement.
Thus, if the appointment is made, it would be seen as a major coup on the part of Celtic. And as reported by The Scottish Sun, Dermot Desmond has promised Howe full authority over his staff as well as substantial transfer resources.

Howe could be the man to take Celtic back to the top
There is no doubting the fact that Howe is a brilliant manager. The work he did at Bournemouth deserves a lot of credit, and he did it while his side played attacking football as well. That is perhaps what makes him an even more attractive candidate for the Parkhead job.
It has been always believed that Howe wants to bring in his own backroom staff along with him and it is good to see that he has been promised that by Desmond.
It just goes on to show that the Hoops are ready to back him, which is something that every manager needs if they are to succeed at a club.
Of course, a move is still not over the line and it will be interesting to see when or if the appointment is finally made.
