It is hard to get excited for the Glasgow Derby coming up on Sunday if you are a Celtic fan. At the end of the day, there is no chance of silverware left this season and the Rangers will be heavy favourites going into the game.
Of course, this game will always be important but it just does not feel as special as it normally does with not a lot at stake. The Rangers’ defeat in the Scottish Cup in midweek has raised some hope of a win for the Hoops, who will also have the chance to prevent Steven Gerrard’s side from finishing the Premiership season without tasting defeat. But whatever your view on that, there is one man who will definitely want a win – Scott Brown.
It will be the last time some of the current squad will feature in a Glasgow Derby. Most notably, Brown, who is leaving Parkhead to take a player-coach role at Aberdeen. Some might see a possible return as a Celtic manager in the future, but for now it’s the end of a legendary playing career for the Hoops.
His huddle talk for the game will be one to hear. And the outgoing skipper is expected leave the rest of the team in no doubt that he is looking for a win and nothing less.

There have been ups and downs through the course of the season and the recent record against the Rangers isn’t great. Hopefully that changes on Sunday and we can come out with a win from Ibrox.
But whatever the result on the day, Brown will always have great memories from his Ibrox appearances. In addition to all the iconic victories, it’s been over ten years now since the iconic ‘Broony’ celebration was born after his goal in February 2011. That’s something we will all remember. And we can all dream of a repeat on Sunday.
So, let’s get the win at Ibrox. Let’s do it for Broony!
