Celtic have endured a poor campaign by their own high standards and not many players have managed to shine throughout the course of the season. Yet, it looks like the club’s players remain in demand.

Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie are all being linked with moves away from the club while Scott Brown is also set to leave to take up a player-coach role at Aberdeen. And now Ismaila Soro is the latest player being linked with a Parkhead exit.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Tottenham are monitoring the defensive midfielder. According to stat from Transfermarkt, Soro has made 21 appearances this season, featuring for 1099 minutes.

Soro was signed by the Hoops in January of 2020 but it was only this season that he was given his debut for the club. And to be honest, while he has not been a first-team regular for the entirety of the campaign, he has impressed when on the pitch.

Celtic must keep hold of Soro

With Brown set to leave at the end of the season, Soro is expected to be the man to come into the team and play his role come next season.

Many would argue that the Hoops have looked like a better team when he has been on the pitch and deserved more minutes on the pitch this season itself. And while there are still certain areas of his game that he must polish up, at 22 years of age, he has all the time in the world to develop further.

If he stays at Parkhead next season, he is expected to play a big role in the first-team. Hopefully he will stay because the team already looks set to lose a number of players that they must find replacements for. And Soro is not someone whose name they would want to add to that list.
