It looks like it is going to be a huge rebuild at Celtic over the summer. It has to be. While that can bring fresh first-team opportunities for some in the squad, it’s also a time to move on players who just have not made their mark at the club.

Those decisions can be taken even before a new director of football or manager is appointed. While there is always the possibility that a new coach can turn around a player’s career, some in the current squad look to be headed for the exit door anyway.

Patryk Klimala’s New York Bulls transfer is an example of a good move for all concerned. He was impressive at times and worked hard, but ultimately he had not done enough during his time at Parkhead. It is believed that the club received a transfer fee around £3.5 million for the Polish striker.

The next to leave the club could be another striker. As reported by Daily Record, Vakoun Bayo is a target of Tunisian giants Esperance, who have enquired about his availability.

Bayo linked with Celtic exit

Bayo is currently on loan at Toulouse. With 6 goals in 26 Ligue 2 appearances to his name, the French club look unlikely to take up the option to buy in the loan deal. Thus, Bayo looks set to return to Parkhead at the end of the season.

He is another, like Klimala. who hasn’t had a lot of chances to prove himself at Parkhead. However, he was not been very impressive in the chances that he was given and has not impressed during his time at Toulouse either. Thus, a transfer to Esperance might be a good move for him.

Bayo played in Tunisia for Etoile Sportive du Sahel before moving to Europe, so there is a connection there. Esperance are league leaders currently so it could be an attractive move for him.

Thus, it would not be surprising to see Bayo being the next striker to depart Parkhead.
