There is no hiding from the fact that Celtic have failed to deliver this season with 10IAR on the line. In fact, it is not only in the Premiership that they have underwhelmed but in all of the other competitions as well.
After failing to make the group stage of the Champions League for the third straight season, the Hoops were knocked out from the Group Stages of the Europa League itself. Their domestic cup runs were not much better either.
They were knocked out from the second round of the Scottish League Cup by Ross County, while the Rangers knocked them out of the Scottish Cup in the fourth round of the competition.
But that does not mean that the Rangers went on to win the two cup competitions either. And while they might still be unbeaten in the Premiership, Chris Sutton feels they cannot be called ‘the Invincibles’. As reported by The Scottish Sun, he said on BBC 5 Live Sport:
"“How are you calling them the Invincibles? Brendan Rodgers’ team were unbeaten in the league and won the cups.“They are the true Invincibles. You cannot call Steven Gerrard’s team the ‘Invincibles’. Invincibles asterisk.”"

Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic have been described as the ‘true Invincibles’ by Sutton
In the 2016/17 season, Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side did not lose a single game in domestic competition. We have already seen Steven Gerrard’s side lose twice. And there are still games left for them to play in the league.
If they end up losing even one of the remaining three games in the league, this won’t even be a debate. The Hoops will themselves get a chance to do that when they travel to Ibrox on 2nd May. And even if the Rangers do manage to avoid defeat till the end of the season, they cannot be called ‘The Invincibles’ considering what Rodgers’ side achieved in the past.
Celtic’s focus should now be on winning the upcoming Glasgow Derby. With no silverware left to play for, this will be their last important game of the season, with second place already secured.
