It is safe to say that the Eddie Howe to Celtic saga has dragged on for quite some time now and has already had its fair share of twists and turns along the way.
Not too long ago, it had looked like the manager was destined to take the Parkhead job and a lot of rumours suggested that the appointment would be made inside a week. Several weeks have come and gone since then though and he is yet to arrive.
Naturally, there are doubts over whether the move will ultimately happen at all. And with Howe being linked with a couple of Premier League clubs in recent weeks as well, those doubts will remain until the club appoint a permanent manager, whether it is Howe or somebody else.
After weeks of speculation, there appears to be some promising news about the potential move though. While speaking on the Celtic Huddle Podcast and as reported by Football FanCast, John McGarry said:
"“I’m told that both parties are fairly relaxed about the situation in terms of negotiations. Nobody’s stormed off in a huff or anything like that. It’s just taking a long time to get these discussions over structure and personnel over the line.”"

Howe to Celtic appears to still be on the table
There is no doubt that Howe is one of the best free agent managers available in world football right now. And if the Hoops are able to get a deal for him over the line, it would be seen as a major coup.
He is very highly rated in England for the job he did at Bournemouth and has even been touted as a potential England national team manager in the future. Thus, it should not come as a surprise that he is being linked with Premier League clubs.
The fact that not much news has emerged regarding the possible move to Celtic in recent days has given rise to fears that it might be off the table. But these comments suggest that there is still a very real possibility that the former Bournemouth could end up at Parkhead in the near future.
