Celtic are expected to go after a new manager over the course of the next few months as the club aim to bounce back from the disappointments of this season.
After their defeat at the hands of the Rangers in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup, they are now going to finish the season without a trophy. That is quite a turn for a club that completed the Quadruple Treble not too long ago.
There were growing calls in recent days for John Kennedy to be given a chance if he could guide the team to some silverware by the end of this campaign but now that that won’t happen, it is very unlikely that he will be handed the job on a permanent basis.
Eddie Howe is the favourite at this point of time although doubts have risen regarding that move in recent weeks as well. One other man who was also heavy linked with the role is Roy Keane. But as reported by The Scottish Sun, Keane has told his mates that he feels the chance has gone.

Could Keane have been a good choice on the part of Celtic?
It has been over a decade since Keane managed a club on his own. After roles at Sunderland and Ipswich Town, he had served as assistant manager for Republic of Ireland, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
And it always felt unlikely that he would be handed the role, especially when the club needed someone with a lot of experience who could guide them back to the top of Scottish football as soon as possible. It remains to be seen if they can find a manager of that quality for next season.
One thing is for sure though, changes need to be made at Parkhead and quickly if the club are to challenge for titles once again in the near future.
