Celtic have been linked with a move for Eddie Howe for quite a few months now. And not too long ago, it was looking like the former Bournemouth manager was close to being appointed as the club’s manager.
Not much has cropped up regarding the matter over the last few days though and now, it looks unlikely that any appointment will be made before the end of the season.
It looks like there could be some bad news regarding the Howe situation as well. As reported by Give Me Sport, he believes that he could be in line for the Crystal Palace job at the end of this campaign.
Roy Hodgson’s current deal with Crystal Palace runs out at the end of the season and there is a feeling that the club will go after a new manager after that. While Howe has been heavily linked with the club, names like Sean Dyche and Valerien Ismael have been brought up as well.

Could Celtic be set to lose the Howe race?
Howe is very highly rated in England. And it is not hard to see why considering the job he did at Bournemouth, taking them from League Two to the Premier League and then keeping them up for five seasons.
Thus, it is only natural that there is interest in him from Premier League clubs and if the manager indeed wants to remain in English football, then it could be very difficult for Celtic to bring him to Parkhead.
There is also the matter of the new season approaching. If the transfer saga drags on for too long, the Hoops might be forced to turn their attention elsewhere. There is also the possibility that the club could stick with current interim manager John Kennedy if he is able to guide the club to a strong finish to the season with a Scottish Cup victory.
