Celtic are expected to bring in a new manager over the next few months as the club look to turn things around and challenge for the Premiership title again, as soon as possible. And one man who has been continuously linked with the role in recent months is Eddie Howe.
Howe is very highly rated in England for the job that he did at Bournemouth over his two stints there, taking them from the relegation zone of League Two to the Premier League and keeping them there for five straight seasons.
Naturally, some Premier League clubs are rumoured to want him as well. But at this point of time, the Hoops do appear to be the favourites, although things can change very quickly in the world of football.
There is an interesting update regarding the whole matter. As reported by the Mirror, Howe sought the advice of Brendan Rodgers about taking the Celtic job.

Can Howe be a success at Celtic?
Howe just needs to look at the success that Rodgers enjoyed at Parkhead if he is looking for any inspiration regarding taking the job. The Northern Irish manager won 7 trophies during his time at the club.
And when he did end up leaving, he was appointed as the manager of Leicester City, a club that is competing for a top four spot in the Premier League regularly these days. Thus, if Howe’s ultimate goal is to return to the Premier League to manage a top club, success at Celtic will only improve his chances.
Now, the question is, is Howe the right man for the Hoops? He did achieve a lot during his time at Bournemouth but has never won a top level trophy. But at the end of the day, that is perhaps expected of someone who is not managing a ‘Big Six’ side in England. His sides are known to play attractive football as well, which is a plus for any manager being linked with the Glasgow giants.
Thus, Howe might very well be the man for the Parkhead job. It remains to be seen whether the club can get an appointment over the line though.
