Celtic are expected to bring in a new manager over the course of the next few months after the disappointment of last season, which saw them lose the Premiership title to the Rangers despite 10IAR being on the line.
Neil Lennon stepped down from his role in late February and John Kennedy is currently serving as the interim manager of the club. But unless he manages to turn things around completely, one would expect to see a new manager in the dugout in the near future.
A week or so ago, it was looking like Eddie Howe was going to be that man. It was rumoured to be only a matter of time before his appointment was announced and many even predicted that it could be done inside a week. That week has come and gone but not Kennedy remains the manager at Parkhead. And to be honest, it looks likely that he will remain in the role until the end of the season until a change is made.
Interestingly, Frank McAvennie believes that the presence of Peter Lawwell at the club could have an effect on their search for the next manager. As reported by Football Insider, he said:
"“Eddie, he’ll be like Brendan Rodgers and Martin O’Neill, he’ll want to run the club from top to bottom.“That might be a stumbling block, especially with Peter Lawwell there at the moment because he likes to be hands-on.“It might get easier to negotiate a deal once he’s gone. It depends if a manager can accept that.”"

Is Howe to Celtic still on the cards?
If Howe does come to Parkhead, he will come with a huge reputation because of his achievements at Bournemouth, a team he took from the relegation zone of League Two to the Premier League and then kept them there for five straight seasons.
Naturally, there appears to be interest in him from Premier League sides as well. Naturally, a manager like him is expected to ask for assurances before taking any job. Could that turn out to be a stumbling block at Celtic? That remains to be seen.
One thing is for sure though, Howe is a brilliant manager and if the Hoops can get a deal for him over the line, it will be seen as a major coup on their part.
