Worrying update emerges about next Celtic manager situation

Not too long ago, it had looked like Celtic had got their man in the form of Eddie Howe and it was only a matter of time before he would be appointed as the club’s next manager. Things have changed since then though.

There is a lot of confusion surrounding the managerial situation at the moment. After a couple days of constant rumours and news about Howe, not much has cropped up recently. Names like Lucien Favre have been mentioned as alternative targets.

The team has performed well under interim manager John Kennedy since returning from the international break though and if that continues till the end of the campaign, it is very possible that he could be handed the role on a permanent basis.

Phil Mac Giolla Bhain’s latest article shows just how confusing things are at the moment. He has been provided conflicting updates on the Howe situation by two sources, both of which he describes as ‘excellent’. While one is quite optimistic about Howe’s chances of being the club’s next manager, the other one seems to believe that the move might not be happening with the manager wanting to bring in up to 5 backroom staff with him, which Celtic are not keen on.

The Celtic managerial situation is very confusing at the moment

There is no doubt that Howe is an excellent manager who can very possibly get the job done at Parkhead if given the chance. But there is a lot of confusion surrounding his situation at the moment. A couple of days ago, it had looked like he was destined to be in the Parkhead dugout in the not too distant future. Now, there are significant doubts about that.

Of course, a lot of people still seem to believe that the move will happen and he just wants to start the job at the end of the season and not immediately. Only time will tell if that is acurate.

But for the time being, all the conflicting speculation and rumours are just making things more confusing as the Hoops continue their search for a new manager.
