With the Scottish Cup Glasgow Derby coming up next, Celtic fans can take some confidence from the massive 6-0 win over Livingston as well as John Kennedy’s words.

The actual timing of the match may be in some doubt at the moment but Kennedy is sure his team can go one better from their recent run of games against their Glasgow rivals, as they are yet to defeat them this season.

That will need to change if the Hoops are to have the chance to make history by winning a fifth straight Scottish Cup title, as the two sides are set to meet in the fourth round of the competition.

As reported by The Sunday Post, Kennedy discussed about the confidence he has in his squad:

"“I have full belief in the squad we have here, and that on our day we are still the best team in the country.”"

He acknowledged the fact though that the team needs to be more clinical in front of goal:

"“I think in the last game (last month’s 1-1 draw at Celtic Park), and the 60 minutes we had at Ibrox (prior to Nir Bitton’s sending off in the 1-0 defeat in January), we showed that.“From my point of view, in terms of our level of performance, and how we can play and create, there were a lot of positives.“We just have to be much more clinical at the top end, and not be switching off at set-play moments.“That’s been the outcome of the games recently.“We will be fully focused on that, and we will try to build on our performances.”"

Can Celtic get the Derby win this time around?

The last couple of Derby matches did see more focussed performances from the Hoops. They were the better team at Ibrox earlier in the season but they could not take their chances in the first half and then Nir Bitton’s sending off changed the course of the game and ultimately they suffered a 1-0 defeat owing to an own goal.

There were chances to win the game in March as well, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Their finishing was off the mark on that occasion as well.

Celtic haven’t been anywhere near their best this season, while Steven Gerrard’s side are bound to be confident after winning the Premiership title. Thus, it will take a big performance from the Bhoys if they are to win.

James Forrest has made a huge difference for the Hoops in recent matches and hopefully he did not pick up a serious injury against Livingston.

With the Scottish Cup still there to play for, some better form of late and nine goals in their last two matches, the team should be going into this next Derby with the confidence that they can get a result.
