After a long time, it was a big win from Celtic as they managed to put six goals past Livingston in a 6-0 win. A brace from Mohamed Elyounoussi, one goal each from James Forrest, David Turnbull and Ryan Christie, and an own goal from Jack Fitzwater were enough for the Hoops.

But even then, it was not the perfect game for the side as fans must have been sweating when Forrest had to be substituted off with an injury.

Forrest has spent the majority of the season out with an injury and as a result, seeing him being forced off will be very worrying. And while he has had his critics in recent years, it is clear that the Hoops are a better team with him in the side.

John Kennedy had a hopeful if not positive injury update about the player. As reported by the Daily Record, the interim manager told BBC Radio Scotland:

"“At the beginning of the second half he felt his back stiffen up and just generally around the hamstring and hip areas.“I knew he wasn’t moving too freely, and as soon as I saw that I just wanted to take him off, (it was) precautionary.“We’ll just see how he goes and how it settles down over the next couple of days.”"

Forrest is vital to this Celtic side

While the league season might be over, the Hoops still have the Scottish Cup to play for, where they will get the chance to make more history if they can win it for the fifth straight time.

As a result, it is important that someone as important as Forrest manages to remain fit and we can only hope that he did not pick up a serious injury against Livingston.

He has already missed the majority of the season and so it was sad to see him go down once again. But Kennedy’s update, that it was a precautionary substitution, at least provides some hope that he could be back soon.

The overall performance today deserves mention as well. It has been a long time since Celtic last managed to score 6 goals in a game and hopefully this is the start of them getting back on track.
