While it might be easy to forget now after the season that Celtic have had, the club were linked with a number of players in the previous summer transfer window who ended up getting big moves elsewhere.
One of those players was Aaron Hickey. The Scottish youngster was a part of the Hoops’ youth system but ultimately ended up moving to Hearts, where he broke into senior football.
He was heavily linked with a Parkhead comeback last summer though after managing to break into Hearts’ first-team as a 17-year-old. But ultimately the move failed to materialise and instead, he ended up moving to Bologna. And the future looks bright for him there.
Hickey has made 12 appearances for the Serie A side this season as they sit at 11th position in the league table. And while he might not have made the switch to Celtic last summer, he has not ruled out the possibility of a move in the future. As reported by the Daily Record, while speaking with The Herald, he said:
"“I’m a Celtic supporter and it was massive for me, but I just didn’t think it was the right time to go there.“I wouldn’t ever rule it out down the line, who knows.”"

Could Hickey make a move to Celtic in the future?
Left-back has been an area of weakness for the Hoops ever since Kieran Tierney left for Arsenal. The club has not managed to replace him despite signing Boli Bolingoli and Greg Taylor while also bringing Diego Laxalt on loan from AC Milan.
While all three of them have had runs in the first-team, none of them have managed to quite nail down a spot in the starting XI for a considerable length of time. As a result, a move for another left-back in the future, on the part of the Hoops, cannot be ruled out.
Thus, could a future move for Hickey be on the cards? That is something only time will tell.
But if he manages to continue to develop during his stay at Bologna, there is no reason for it not to happen somewhere down the line.
