Brendan Rodgers targets Celtic duo in the summer
While Brendan Rodgers did have a great time at Celtic as the club’s manager, the manner in which he left the club in the middle of the season to join Leicester City left a bad taste in a lot of fans’ mouths.
And now it looks like he could try to sign two first-team regulars from his former club in the upcoming summer transfer window. As reported by The Sun, Leicester City could make just a couple of major moves in the summer and both of them could be Celtic players.
The first of them is Callum McGregor, who looks set to be handed the captain’s armband when Scott Brown leaves for Aberdeen at the end of the season. Rodgers is believed to be a huge fan of the midfielder and has already tried to sign him during his time at Leicester City. And he could make another attempt soon.
The second player is Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman has been the club’s talisman over the last few years but with just a year left on his contract at the end of the current campaign, he is expected to depart Parkhead in the summer. And Leicester City could make a transfer bid in the region of £20 million for the striker.

Could Celtic duo leave for Leicester City?
The coming season promises to be a transitional one for the Hoops. A number of players are expected to leave the club and will hopefully be replaced by new faces. Players like Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie will be in the final year of their current deals and are being linked with Parkhead exits.
While Edouard leaving is looking likely at this point of time, it will be surprising if the club are open to the departure of McGregor as well.
At the end of the day, Brown will switch to Aberdeen in a player-coach role and McGregor is expected to be made the captain of the club. Thus, him joining Leicester City in the summer is something that looks very unlikely.
