The rumours surrounding Eddie Howe to Celtic have gained a lot of momentum over the past few days. And now it looks like the former Bournemouth manager might be the clear favourite to take over at Parkhead.

Many fans will be left questioning about the manager. We all know that he took Bournemouth from the relegation zone of League Two to the Premier League and managed to keep them there for five seasons.

But what else does he bring to the plate – stylistically and when it comes to his philosophy? As it turns out, he might just be the perfect man for the job in that regard.

As reported by BBC, former Bournemouth captain, Tommy Elphick, said of the manager:

"“He’s detailed in his work and spends a lot of time getting to know his players.“At Bournemouth he really tapped into the history of the club, made us proud to wear the shirt, and got us playing in a way that resonated with the fans.“He’ll tap into the big history of Celtic and his style of play will really suit. It’s exciting, fast paced, we always went to win the game whether it was against Man City in the Premier League or Oldham in League One.”"

Could Howe actually be the perfect man for the Celtic job?

Now, there is no doubt that Howe is a fantastic manager. It takes a lot for anyone to take a club from League Two to the Premier League. That is an incredible achievement in itself and what is even more impressive is the fact that he did it in a relatively short span of time.

The bigger question will be regarding his fit at a club like Celtic. After all, he has never managed at a place where he is expected to win week in and week out, to the point where coming second in the league is considered disappointing.

Is Howe someone who can cope with that kind of pressure and deliver the results? That is something that cannot be predicted and only time will tell. But when it comes to style of football and mentality, it does look like he possesses everything that the Hoops could ask for in their manager.

The club’s focus should now be on getting a deal over the line for Howe and giving him the best opportunity possible to succeed at Parkhead.
