Over the past few months, a number of managers have been linked with the Celtic job. But as we approach the end of the season, it looks like Eddie Howe has emerged as the clear favourite to take over at Parkhead.
The former Bournemouth manager has been linked with the club since last year now and it looks like the move could finally be close to taking place. News broke out earlier today that the Hoops were closing in on an appointment.
And now, as reported by The Scottish Sun, it has emerged that Howe has held face-to-face discussions with Dermot Desmond in London. Dominic McKay, who is set to replace Peter Lawwell next season, was also present at the meeting.
Howe is now believed to be the top choice for the Celtic job. And that could be very exciting news for the club moving forward.

Is Howe the perfect man for the Celtic job?
Next season is going to be more difficult than any other in recent memory. And it is safe say that the odds will be stacked against the Hoops.
A number of first-team players like Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie are expected to leave in the summer and will hopefully be replaced by new faces. Long-time captain Scott Brown is also set to join Aberdeen in a player-coach role. On top of that, a number of changes are set to take place off the pitch too. Thus, it is shaping up to be a transitional season in many ways.
Whoever the manager is at that point of time cannot treat it as such though, as the club will be hoping to win back the Premiership title as soon as possible.
Is Eddie Howe the man who can do that? Only time will tell. He is as good as anyone when it comes to the managers who have been linked with the club in recent months though.
