There is no denying the fact that Celtic have endured a very disappointing campaign. With 10IAR on the line, they struggled very badly in the league and ultimately ended up losing the title race to the Rangers with six games to spare.

Thus, it will be very important for the club to bounce back and do it as soon as possible. For that to happen though, a number of changes need to be made. And one of them has to be bringing in a new manager.

Neil Lennon stepped down from his role in the middle of the campaign leaving John Kennedy in interim charge of the team. And although it is still possible that he could be handed the role on a permanent basis, that seems unlikely at this point of time.

While it is still unclear who the next manager will be, as we approach the end of the season, the picture is starting to get a bit clearer. And while speaking on The Celtic Huddle Podcast and as reported by 67 Hail Hail, Mark Wilson said:

"“The Celtic Huddle’s information is that it’s between Eddie Howe and Roy Keane, but the former Bournemouth man is the favourite.”"

Howe being the favourite is brilliant news for Celtic

Out of all the names that have been linked with the Parkhead job over the past several months, Howe is one of the most interesting.

He had a brilliant time at Bournemouth. Over two stints at the club, he managed to guide them from the relegation zone of the League Two table to the Premier League and kept them there for five seasons. Clearly he is a brilliant manager.

But he has not yet managed at a club where you are expected to win on a consistent basis, week in week out. And if he does end up being appointed the club’s manager, it will be interesting to see how he makes that adjustment.

The other candidate appears to be Roy Keane, who has much less experience than Howe as a manager and has not managed a club in over a decade.
