After the season that Celtic have endured, it became clear that changes were needed at the club in order to bounce back and return to the top of the Scottish game. And the exits have come one after the other over the past few months.
Peter Lawwell is set to retire from his role after 17 years at Parkhead and will be replaced by the incoming Dominic McKay. Neil Lennon also stepped down as manager in late February, leaving John Kennedy in interim charge. And a new manager is expected to be brought in over the next few months.
The club will also be losing their long-time captain in the form of Scott Brown, who is set to join Aberdeen next season in a player-coach role.
And now, Nick Hammond has resigned from his position as the Head of Football Operations, in order to pursue new opportunities. The news was confirmed by Celtic’s official website.

Celtic will have a very different look next season
There were always expected to be a few changes at Parkhead at the end of this season, no matter what the result was. But now, it looks like the club will undergo a massive overhaul.
Other than the aforementioned changes, a number of players are expected to leave the club as well. First-team regulars like Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie have all been linked with moves away, with just a year left on their current deals at the end of the current campaign. And they will have to be replaced with new players.
Thus, the team will have a very different look next season as it is truly the end of an era at Parkhead. In many ways, it will be a transitional season for the Hoops. Let’s just hope the next era in the club’s history is as successful as this one was.
