Celtic are facing a massive summer overhaul, as the club look to bounce back from this disappointing season. As a result, a number of new players are expected to arrive along with a new manager, a director of football and the incoming Dominic McKay.
But there will be those who will be leaving as well. Peter Lawwell is set to retire after 17 years at the club and Scott Brown will be leaving for Aberdeen as well. And could he be joined by Leigh Griffiths there?
According to The Sunday Post, rumours in the North East suggest that Aberdeen are looking into the possibility of bringing the striker to the club, as they are in need of a proven goalscorer.
Talking about Griffiths, he has endured a difficult time this season after it had looked like he had managed to resurrect his career in the second half of last season. More injuries have affected his availability and the change in manager hasn’t helped either. And it is very possible that he could be on his way out of the club.

Could Griffiths be set to leave Celtic as well?
At a time when Celtic have struggled to hit the back of the net consistently, his absence from the team will surely worry Griffiths. Of course, a new manager coming in could see him get another run in the team, with Odsonne Edouard expected to leave and neither Patryk Klimala nor Albian Ajeti looking like first-team strikers at the moment.
On multiple occasions in the past, it has looked like Griffiths’ time at Parkhead was up, only for him to find his way back into the team. This could be another such occasion.
As a result, the Scottish international may well yet get more chances at Parkhead, but no one should be surprised if he did end up leaving either as the chance to be a regular starter at Aberdeen might be a tempting option as well.
