Over the recent years, a number of youngsters have left Celtic for some of Europe’s biggest clubs even before breaking into the Hoops’ first-team. And it did not come as a surprise when rumours emerged that Manchester United were interested in one of the club’s most promising youth players.
The player in question is Vincent Angelini. The 17-year-old goalkeeper is currently with the Celtic under-18 team and he is yet to make a senior appearance for the club.
But with his contract set to expire at the end of this campaign, he has been linked with a move away from Parkhead. And according to the Daily Record, he even knocked back a new deal and looks set to head for the exit door in the near future.
One of the clubs being linked with the young goalkeeper were Manchester United. But it looks like they have decided against making a move for Angelini according to Stretty News.

The Celtic youngster is drawing interest from Premier League clubs
Despite the news about Manchester United, Angelini won’t have a lack of suitors if he did end up leaving the Glasgow giants in the summer.
Clubs like Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United, Fulham and Everton have reportedly all enquired about the player recently. As a result, a move to the Premier League seems very likely at this point of time.
Of course, Angelini won’t be the first highly-rated youth player to leave the club in recent years. Liam Hughes joined Liverpool, Liam Morrison and Barry Hepburn chose to move to Bayern Munich and Josh Adams signed with Manchester City.
And if Angelini does leave as well, it will raise further questions about why the Hoops have failed to integrate their youngsters into the first-team in recent years, which has led to their departure from the club. You have to wonder how much of a part their failure to make it into the Champions League in the past three years has played as well.
