Celtic are expected to bring in a new manager in the summer as they aim to challenge for the Scottish Premiership once again after losing out to the Rangers this time around with six games to spare.
While John Kennedy is currently in interim charge, it is unlikely that he will be given the job on a permanent basis unless results and performances improve drastically. And recent reports from down South suggest that the Hoops have their sights set on Chris Wilder.
As reported by Sheffield United News, the Premier League club are demanding a compensation from Celtic for the manager.
News broke out yesterday that Wilder was set to leave Sheffield United but no official confirmation has been made yet. Could the negotiations between the two clubs be the reason for that? Guess only time will tell.

Is Chris Wilder set to be the next Celtic manager?
While Sheffield United might be at the bottom of the Premier League table right now, it would be a mistake to discount everything that Wilder has done ever since taking over at the club.
Joining in 2016, he guided them from League One to the Premier League in the space of just three seasons. And then, the club finished in ninth position in their first season back in the top flight of English football. That is a very impressive achievement for any manager.
Along the way, his side played some very attractive football as well, which will also be important for any manager who eventually takes the Parkhead job.
Perhaps Pep Guardiola’s comments about Wilder sum up how highly he is truly rated. As reported by The Star, the Manchester City manager said:
"“If he would be here, he would fight to be champion. If I was in Sheffield maybe I’d fight not to be relegated.”"
That is very high praise coming from one of the best managers in history. And Celtic fans should be delighted if the club do manage to bring Wilder to Parkhead.
